This issue occurs when the report linked to the merge button is owned by an inactive Apsona user. In this case, the report owner (“X”) was no longer an active Apsona user in the org. Reports owned by inactive users may fail to load properly and appear completely empty (no fields, no data), which also causes merge buttons that depend on them to fail.
The report was owned by a user account that is no longer active in Apsona. Because of this, Apsona could not load or execute the report correctly.
The customer was advised to change the ownership of the report to themselves or another active user by:
Going to Settings → Apsona Items,
Filtering for the affected report(s), and
Using Tools → Update All to update the Owner field.
Once the report ownership is updated to an active user, the report loads normally and the merge button works as expected.
Reports owned by inactive Apsona users can appear empty or fail to run.
When a report unexpectedly shows no data or fields, always verify the report owner first.
