When an Email + Document Merge is run from a Salesforce sandbox, the email is usually sent successfully, but is often delivered to the Spam or Junk folder instead of the inbox. This happens because Salesforce modifies the sender (“From”) email address in sandbox environments by appending additional or invalid characters. Most email providers treat these modified addresses as suspicious, causing the emails to be flagged as spam.
This behavior does not indicate a problem with the merge action, template, or Apsona configuration. The email is generated and delivered as expected, but email clients filter it due to sandbox-specific sender handling. No configuration changes are required in Apsona or Salesforce. In production environments, where valid sender addresses are used, merged emails are delivered normally to recipients’ inboxes.
