If new donors are being added to an existing campaign, Apsona cannot automatically distinguish them from existing donors based solely on the campaign name. However, there are a few effective ways to handle this:
Option 1: Add a Custom “New Donor” Field in Salesforce
Create a checkbox or picklist field called New Donor in Salesforce.
Mark it as “True” for new donors when they are created.
This allows you to easily filter and target them in Apsona reports or merge actions.
Option 2: Use a Separate “New Donors” Campaign
Instead of assigning new donors to the general campaign, create a dedicated “New Donors” campaign in Salesforce.
Add all first-time donors to this campaign.
Apsona will then display them separately, making it easy to generate tailored letters for that group.
Option 3: Filter Using Salesforce Reports
If you track donor creation dates or other indicators, build a Salesforce report filtering for recent or first-time donors.
You can then import or use this report in Apsona to run mail merges for new donors.
Outcome:
New donors are clearly identifiable in Apsona.
Targeted letters can be generated without manual review.
